Objective: Prepare students to recognize the common materials and understand the hazards of a potential explosives and/or toxics illicit hazardous environment (IHE)
Target Personnel: Law enforcement and any other personnel who are required to assess clandestine laboratories in which explosive or highly toxic compounds may be manufactured
Prerequisites: 32-Hour Clandestine Laboratory HAZWOPER Safety training; Site Safety Officer training (recommended); Advanced Clan Labs: Beyond the Basics training (recommended)
Overview: This advanced high-hazard course covers the assessment, identification, and hazards involved with clan labs where explosives or toxics are being produced. The course covers the use of household products and other materials utilized to make various deadly or reactive compounds. Students will be introduced to the different types of field instruments needed to properly assess these high-hazard labs.
