NES has been providing general industry HAZWOPER training for a broad range of private businesses and public agencies since 1987. In tandem with this line of services and in response to the need to establish analogous health and safety programs for law enforcement, first responders, and other investigative personnel, NES staff have developed numerous clandestine laboratory (clan lab) safety training programs that have been delivered to more than 70,000 affected employees throughout the United States over the past three decades.

Drawing from this depth of experience and subject matter expertise, the 40-Hour Cannabis HAZWOPER for Law Enforcement course was developed to address safety concerns for personnel working indoor and outdoor cannabis cultivation operations. The course focuses on the many health and safety concerns associated with cannabis cultivation sites, including chemical and physical hazards, hazard evaluation, protective clothing, respiratory protection, and other related topics. Training for this program consists of both classroom and hands-on instruction. Participants will receive the NES Cannabis Operations Safety Field Guide (Green Book) and a certificate of completion.

This course prepares students to perform cannabis cultivation operations safely and in compliance with the OSHA HAZWOPER standard.
