This 3-day course is for workers under 29 CFR 1910.120(q) and 8 CCR 5192(q) who respond to and stop chemical releases at their facility. The training covers planning and executing emergency response actions and includes information on emergency response overviews, initial incident procedures, emergency response operations, incident safety, scene assessment, response hazards, principles of personal safety, and response agencies. Students will receive a course manual, Emergency Response Guidebook, and certificate of completion.
This class is applicable to most industrial facilities, contractor personnel, and public agency workers who respond to spills at their own facility.
Who Should Attend:
This course is intended for employees who are expected to respond to chemical releases with the expectation of containing, controlling and stopping the release. This course is not intended for those performing hazardous waste site investigations or cleanup work. It is also not designed to meet the training specified under 19 CCR for public emergency response teams funded under the SEMS criteria (i.e., county hazmat teams).
