This 8-hour course focuses on defensive techniques used to contain and control a chemical release. The course meets 29 CFR 1910.120(q) and 8 CCR 5192(q) training requirements for first responders at the Operations level. Training includes basic information on hazard and risk assessment techniques, personal protective equipment, hazardous materials terms, defensive measures, and decontamination. Each student will receive a printed copy of the course manual, Emergency Response Guidebook, and certificate of completion.
This course will prepare participants for assessing and responding to chemical spills.
