Asbestos has been regulated by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) for many years under 29 CFR Section 1910.1001. Products that were built with asbestos are still present in both residential and commercial buildings and applications. Even with regulations in place, asbestos is found in common materials used in many different industries and poses a risk to more workers than some may know.
In this webinar NES discusses OSHA’s requirements for the employers and employees who may work with or around asbestos. Webinar topics to be discussed include the history of asbestos, the health risks it presents, common materials that contain asbestos, and how to determine if asbestos is present in existing materials. The webinar also provides an overview of exposure limits for employees working with or around asbestos and control methods to prevent or reduce employee exposure to this highly hazardous material.
Additional time will be taken at the conclusion of the presentation to allow for any questions attendees may have. Course completion certificates will be available upon request.
